  • Holds volunteers help staff with pulling patron holds and putting materials into the hands of our community.


In-transit returns & shelving

SATURDAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED at Garden Home Community Library

  • Volunteers sort returns from other libraries and shelve library materials for patrons to browse.


Fundraising

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Fundraising is a crucial part of supporting the library. A variety of opportunities allows flexibility for volunteers.

  • Book sale support (ongoing)

    • Book sale volunteers process donations, and organize our book sale shelves to look tidy and appealing for browsing.

  • Bottle Drop collection drives (seasonal)

    • Bottle Drop volunteers accept bags of cans and bottles in the parking lot during collection days and turn them in to local Bottle Drop centers.

    • Check the Support Your Library page for upcoming dates.

  • Tulip Sale (annual in Spring)

    • The Tulip Sale is one of the library's most anticipated annual fundraisers. Volunteers help prepare and sell tulips at the library.

Program Support

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Library programs and events bring people together. Volunteers help make that possible.

  • Regular programs (ongoing)

    • Volunteers support popular programs such as storytime, board gaming, and self-driven activities.

  • Take & Make craft kit assembly (monthly)

    • Volunteers work together to assemble supplies for beloved DIY craft kits. 

  • Special events (seasonal)

    • Volunteers set up and provide support for one-time events that bring the community together.

Summer Reading

Check back in Spring 2026

  • Teen volunteers give out free books, reading logs, and prizes to summer reading participants.


Special Projects

As needed

  • Volunteers help maintain library collections through materials processing and repairs.

  • Other opportunities as they arise
