While Garden Home & West Slope Community Libraries are members of and receive operational funds from Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS), they are locally governed by an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, Garden Home Community Library Association (GHCLA). GHCLA is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public benefit corporation with the purpose of operating and supporting the mission of Garden Home & West Slope Community Libraries. In July 2025, GHCLA assumed responsibility for operations of West Slope Community Library, which was previously operated by Washington County. The GHCLA Board carries full legal responsibility for the nonprofit corporation, serves as the legislative body, and consists of volunteers from the community who are elected by the Association to three-year terms. If you are interested in becoming a Board Member, please apply here.

The GHCLA Board meets on the third Monday of the month at 6:45 pm. Meetings are open to the public and are held in-person in Garden Home Community Library’s meeting room, with online access available upon request. We love to have visitors! If you would like to join a meeting online, please email the Library Director for a link. NOTE: January and February meetings are held on the fourth Monday due to holidays, and the Board does not meet in August or December.
