Fluency Connecting Character to Meaning

Award-winning writer Eric Witchey will lead this seminar on how to connect your characters to the deeper meaning of your story to deliver a profound feeling of significance to your readers. We have all read stories that leave us feeling like the experience meant more than the sum of the words on the page. Those are the stories that stay with us, haunt us, and give us the need to talk to others about what we read. Such stories are more than a mere sequence of interesting events that demonstrate superficial change in character. In such stories, the changes and challenges the character experiences are intrinsically connected to an underlying meaning that affects the reader emotionally, psychologically, and socially. Participants will walk away with several specific tools for planning and revision. Mr. Witchey will also provide a handout to allow review of the seminar content when participants return home.
