Join us for an all-ages seasonal program with a seed swap, paper flower making, music, and refreshments.
The Seed Swap allows gardeners to meet and exchange seeds for fruit and vegetables. There is no charge for this event. All types (locally saved, commercially grown, hybrid or open-pollinated seed) Tubers, SMALL plants and SMALL cuttings are also welcome. Please proportion your seeds in bags or envelops. Please label them clearly with as much information as possible. Generally seed exchanges/swaps ask for information including: common name and variety, Latin name, year the seeds were collected, where they were grown and who grew them, and other information you think will be useful such as what makes it unique or growing tips. You may also want to bring photos of the plants, fruits and vegetables that the seeds produce.
Depending on the turnout, people may be asked to take only small amounts and/or those who bring seed to swap may be allowed to take a bit more than those who come without seed.
Contact the library for additional information.
